I had the freedom to create a class the way that I wanted to, partly because that’s how women’s studies works and partly because no-one had the time to oversee what I was actually doing. Some people feel overwhelmed and intimidated by so much freedom and so little oversight. Not me! I love being left alone to do what I want to do. Of course, my attitude might not always be a good one to have. Did it allow me to stray too far, to become lost in my own experiments?
